Nor will you find a 'main quest line' or 'side quests'. You will find nothing like 'hunting for shrines' in Outer Wilds. And must be pieced together to be understood. The only thing you find in your exploration of the worlds is knowledge. Space travel is deadly enough without hordes of enemies. You have a handful of tools but no weapons. There is no leveling, no items, no power ups. Outer Wilds is very different from any other game I've played. Thanks everyone, I'm pretty sure I'll really like this game and have gotten it. On the other hand, I loved Breath of the Wild (the hunt for the 120 shrines was the key element that made the game playable for me), I loved Witcher 3 (you have map markers for where every interesting sidequest is), and I loved the Witness (to beat the game you *must* explore).Ĭould anyone advise me as to whether you think I would enjoy this game? Thanks in advance! After I beat the main quest, I poked around a city looking for things to do, and then uninstalled the game. I remember playing Oblivion, never deviating from the main quest line, and being bored to tears. I think its how, other than the main quest line, you have absolutely no hints helping you find all the interesting side content. I like *certain kinds* of open-world games, and Bethesda games are not it. My main concern is this: I hate Bethesda games. Its on sale on Steam now, and its time to make a decision. This game has been on my radar for a bit, but I've avoided looking at playthrough videos, because I've heard it is best to go in as blind as possible.
